Nikon 55mm f1.2 Lens - History & Review
one thing is missing from this video and that is that the shutter speed wheel is on a baonet type fitting. so when set to b and it moves up and down it can be pushed up and then turned further locking it in the up position. This will allow you to open the battery door and fit it without having to worry about lifting the wheel. To engage the mechanism simply turn it back to B and it drops engaging with the shutter speed dial.
Perfect
I have the nikon zoom 500 af but it's not exactly the same, and I'm trying to figure out how to put a film or how to take it out once it's finished... do you know about it? Thanks for the video
I love mine... I found a lovely one at a tag sale... works a treat!
The mans picture on the cover would anyone know what unit he served in??
Just inherited one from my grandfather
So 600 film work for a Vintage Polaroid Land Camera SX-70 OneStep White Rainbow Stripe Instant?
I'm having trouble sliding the door back and forth. It gets extremely stuck even after cleaning it. Is there a way to fix this?
so i can still use the non-ai lens on bodies like the f3 and f6 if i just manually expose right?
What aperture do you usually use? Thx
So is the l35 ad the same as the l35 af other then the date stamp? (Exp comp and 5 element less. ) and if so would I just take the battery out of the ad and especially have an af? Sorry for the odd question the more a read online about the differences the more I’m getting confused.
I just received this lens but I can’t remove the rear cap from it ! Is there something I’m missing ?
Bro in Slovakia it costs around 180€!!! :(
Congratz for wasting everyone's time. Don't bother showing a single film to scan. Amazing.
I just discovered her today, though that is a ridiculous thing to say because half her images are just baked into our national psyche. Absolutely stunning stuff.
The only possible problem these days is that should the aging complex electronics fail, that’s the end of the camera Also I was never fussed about the top of the camera being made of plastic, having said that it does create great pictures
Thanks!
I still have mine from 1986 and it’s fantastic for photography during storms, rain, desert or generally dusty, dirty conditions. Super sharp lens, quiet and built like a tank!
Man, sound of your clip is really terrible....
Burrows lived breathed and ultimately died for his craft - leaving us this eternal record of the horrors of the Vietnam conflict. This book is the greatest testament and his lasting legacy. Thank you for sharing.
Congratulations 👏
Pentax Espio Mini also has a remote trigger too, thanks for sharing this camera
The "autofocus/manual" button on my lens broke off. Is anyone familiar with it? thx.
Its a miniature dual lens, how awesome
A veritable cornucopia of luxury camera lenses! I am beyond jealousy! I have subscribed in hopes of living vicariously through you as you shoot your leica because I'll probably never be able to own one. BTW, please don't be upset if you scroll upon my video making fun of leica owners. It was all a joke for internet attention. I don't want to get cancelled by the film community before I get a reel following.
I have this in my collection, along with Eddie Adams, Tim Page, Robert Capa amongst other giants from that time period in history.
I think people tend to lump it in with the various early Nikon AF cameras which often had rather clunky controls but really this is more a classic Nikon manual SLR just with an added auto wind function. Its also much better built than a lot of the budget cameras which followed, has some plastic in it but feels very solid indeed. I'd guess because at the time Autofocus was new enough to sell the F-501 by itself so the F-301 got everything besides that.
Fun thing about this camera is you can control the ISO on it.
Great video. I have one on the way with an M3 but had no idea how it worked until now :)
If getting into this series of Nikons cold-turkey, the FA is a great choice. I started with the first FM and traded "up" has newer versions came out, ending with an FE2 I still have. In 1983-4, I probably would have moved to an FA, but for the very high price assessed for what you got over and FE2. IMO, its reported issues were always over-blown, but they do exist in come units. If starting out today, looking for a daily use Nikon something like the FA,I'd buy an F100. It has everything an FA offers plus some very useful additional functions. The F100 is probably more reliable, both for its age and its design.
The one that arrived today is already dented 😢
Thanks for this video. Love Jane Bown's work.
Very nice review thanks 👍
I bought a cheap Pen F with 38mm 1.8 a few months back and loved it so much I now own 4 of them! I was lucky enough to pick up an original Olympus adapter for Pentax m42 screw mount lenses and feel absolutely no desire to track down the rare and expensive Pen F 60mm 1.5 when I can just use a wonderfully inexpensive Takumar 50mm 1.4 with similar results. Amazing portrait lens on the Pen F!
Back is plastic as far as i'm aware :P
que pila necesita el control ? Gracias .
If you can't read the DX code, at what ISO do you shoot? Muchas Gracias
100
today,200💶
What to do I do if I cant really see that meter line through the camera? Im not sure if it is my eyes or if it has something to do with the camera.
Thank you - I keep forgetting about the lock mechanism.
I wasted an entire roll shot during my military goodbye dinner party using the M90 mode and the E-Series Flash and MDE Drive. Everything came-out dark. In contrast I had better results on a different party leaving the shutter on Auto with a third-party flash with an auto sensor. To this day I’m not comfortable using the E-series flash with this kit.
actually good leica lens is really expensive. But modern one. Even old summicron can cost 1k$ but sometimes You can find more like 500$ heh this one are mostly busted with dim, fog or even scratch. I saw the difference between old summar 50 f2 and new voightlander. There is a really big sharpness difference. Sometimes it is better to shoot with new 7artisan than busted sumilux.
I had the Olympus AF-1 mini way back in the day brand new, they're very similar to the mju series from Olympus, obviously less desirable but equally capable in my honest opinion.👍 I still have mine somewhere but have misplaced it...:(
I found a 7SII for 4€ at a garage sale a few years ago. Recently, I opened it up and really cleaned it up well. I added a pink filter on the viewfinder (grade 1 1/2), and now it's as good as new! Even if it's not the best viewfinder (a bit of distortion and you can see the optics a bit...), I can now use it normally and focus very easily! What's great about this camera is that it's mechanical and therefore works without batteries, and it has really superb optics. 40mm is perhaps the perfect lens! It has a handy automatic mode, but to get the right exposure I have to set 50 iso for a 100 iso film. Either it's got a bit old, or it's because the original battery must have been 1.3v... In any case, a superb camera! I buy bulk rolls of film from Fomapan so that I can continue to enjoy photography without restrictions, just like in the good old days!
정말 감사합니다. 선생님의 가르침대로 인내심을 가지고 따라해서 성공햇서요~~! 엄지 척~~!
Are the PenF (digital) and the PenF (half frame) use the same lens mount?
The FA also works with the MD-11 motor drive.
Mine has a top lens cap idk how to get it off so i can look through the viewfinder
Have collected many Olympus lenses and cameras, old and new. But was not aware of her until this week. Truly inspiring and will certainly buy her books. Tempted to carry the Zuiko 85 mm on my OM4 and attempt portraits like her. Thank you for all the details about her and her photography.
Do the adapters allow you to focus to infinity?
